​The Strategic Planning and Planning Unit of the Mauritius Prison Service is supporting a project in Self-Sufficiency in prisons and Food Production. In this context, 12-Hrs Training session in BIO-Farming in collaboration with FAREI has been launched by the Commissioner of Prisons Mr P.Appadoo at the Prison Training School at Beau Bassin on Wednesday 11th July 2018 at 13.00 hrs. Seventy Seven new recruits at the Mauritius Prison Service

The Mauritius Prison Service recruited Seventy Seven Trainee Prison Officers including Three Women Trainee Prison Officers on Monday 9th July 2018 at 09.00 hrs. They were welcomed by the Commissioner of Prisons Mr P. Grand Winner of the Public Service Excellence Award 2013

The Petit Verger prison in Pointe aux Sables has won the Grand Prize of the Public Service Excellence Award (PSEA) 2013. Out of the forty public service bodies which participated in the seventh edition of the competition, the Petit Verger prison has excelled in all criteria.
